Is there an organization that will pay for my travel to relocate to do volunteer work in New Orleans?

I want to live and work in New Orleans and I don't have the money to move. I would do volunteer work, until I get on my feet.

I'm not aware of relocation reimbursement specifically, but you might want to check with the Hands On Network to see if they can refer you to an organization that will assist with your travel expenses.

Here are some links to help you get started:

Good luck!

Check with one of your churches that has an operation going on there. They often times have funds to help get another able bodied person to the site. It is wonderful that you want to help. I hope you are able to get there. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/accuse_write?qid=20070515220014AA6nnaU&kid=RZ5ZBne1U1SkEgRyE_uc&s=comm&date=2007-05-30+08%3A50%3A37&.crumb=

I think there may still be some churches that will help a volunteer to get into the Katrina area to do community service work. Beyond that I have no idea. You are to be commended for your desire to help I have relatives in that area and have information from them that there is far more to be done than has already been done.
