How long does it take you to drive/travel to your place of work?

How many miles or minutes does it take you to get to work, and do you find it reasonable?

When I first moved to the U.S., my commute was 160 miles per day.

Then just recently, my work was only 1.7 miles (both ways).

Now I'm laid off, so I commute to my back yard on sunny days.

My job is roughly one mile from where I work. I live in a really small town and while there are many dirt roads and some paved ones, the main road is US HWY 68, that goes from Kingman Az to Laughlin, NV right dead smack through the center of our town. I live and work on that road. Most days I walk to work and it takes about a half an hour because you have to walk in the desert along the side of the highway. When I get a ride, it takes less than 5 minutes to get here.

When I was bringing my baby to work with me, it took like 45 minutes to walk and that kind of sucked because pushing a stroller through the dirt is not an easy task. lol

I'm at the other end of the spectrum. I have about a seven step commute to my office! I work from home. :)
