how long do you travel to get to work?
is 70km to much to travel for work?
you gotta do what you have to do to earn a buck. I personally walk to work, but I only live 4 minutes away. :-)
long commutes get old really quick.
You must consider:
expense of gas and maintenance on car and car insurance costs
OR expense of public transport
loss of time to get other things done, that you may end up paying others to do then or in other ways incur or expenses(more eating out, more conveneince foods/items/more babysitting if you have kids, less time to network, finish up or get organized for work unfinished tasks at home-can't find clean clothes for example due to harried schedule
Then the non tangible things like more stress on you making you less productive at work and home
Stress on marriage/family due to no down time.
More chance of vehicle crashes due to time on the road.
POssibility of falling asleep at the wheel when overtired
Negative effects to your health-no time for outdoor or gym workouts;increased BP due to stress of traffic
Figure out if a lower paying job closer to you would be more manageable OR if moving to a place closer to the work is an option.
i go 7kms each way
After living in Eastern Oregon for years we have vowed we would never live any where it takes longer to warm up your car than it does to drive to work.
between 50 to 70 miles is fine...but den u should not drive by urself better to use mass transit or public transport
I am lucky, I work from home. I only have to leave for meetings that can't be done online. They like for us to show up in person once in awhile.
