Does your husband travel for work? How do you occupy yourself while he's gone?

I work full time, so it's not like I'm home all day, but my husband is going to be gone a few weeks at a time so I'm just looking for ideas of what to do while I have the house to myself.

I usually start with getting the house cleaned up the way I want it, LOL. I hang out with friends, I watch a lot of horror movies because he doesn't like them, I take naps (I am a housewife so I enjoy the "time off"). I spend more time on the computer than I normally do playing games and just looking stuff up. I spend more time with my mom and sister. He is normally gone for only a week when he leaves but when he goes to France, he is gone for two weeks. One time he was gone for three and the third week I found myself getting depressed, so make sure you surround yourself with friends and family if you find that happening. Make sure to stay in contact with him as much as you can, my husband couldn't call me that often from France.

When my fiance is away overseas (for anything from 2 weeks to 3 months) I work my usual full time job, and take care of my household and family as usual. The extra time available that I gain from my partner not being here (because he takes up a big space in my life when he is around..lol), I use to catch up with all of my friends, visiting or on the phone, especially the ones I havent seen for a while. I sort through my bills and paperwork, (half heartedly) spring clean my house. Sometimes just laying around doing nothing at all and enjoying the peace and quiet, maybe reading. I like to go shopping and buy new pillows, candles and incense for the bedroom, get my hairdone, pedicure, all the girly stuff. We talk on the phone for an hour or more every night.

When he gets back, we fall into our usual lifestyle together, both working full time, household stuff, teenage family, we spend most of our spare time together, whether at home, eating out, socialising, sunday drive to markets, etc.

My late husband travelled for his job too. He would fly out on Monday morning and come home early evening on Friday every week. I also worked full-time so I was busy with my work. Gratefulky I also have a great group of friends. So I would get together with them when we had the time in the evenings. I have hobbies, like making jewelry and sewing. He and I would write to each other just about every day to remain in touch when he was out of town. My week would go by pretty fast and he would be home again.

Some additional advice: Don't go out drinking alone or with friends, as that could put you in a really bad position and your guard would be down. Find what your interests are and cultivate your talents. Take a class of some kind. Enjoy your friendships. You can get through his time away, and you will enjoy your time together much more. Best wishes!

have a sleepover with a girl friend - watch movies, eat popcorn, fun stuff like that :)

relax

do all the girlie stuff you like to do that he is not in to - go shopping, watch chick flicks, take a bath

read a book, write a book, paint a picture *lol* you know, spend time in your hobby...

keep a journal - write to him every day that he is gone, maybe even include pictures, then when he gets home - give it to him..

I'm dating a commericial pilot. He's home for a few days and gone for a few days. I have been a single mom for 10 years, so it works great for me and my son.

Just continue your life, you know, the one you had when he fell in love with you.

The most my husband has been gone is a week and half. During that time I went to dinner and movies with friends, caught up on some reading, and bowling and even a late night out dancing. Be creative and try new hobbies.

Go do the things you used to do when you were single, go out, hang out with friends, go shop, go have dinner with friends, have fun.

try cleaning the house and re arrange things so he will be surprised when he comes back.pamper yourself,go to a parlor or spa.everything that will surprise him.

Have an affair. it's such fun, trust me.

i answer questions on yahoo lol

I'd cheat on him.
