What types of "chotchkeys" do travel agents receive from destinations and do they work?

I'm curious why types of items travel agents receive from destinations, hotels or resorts and if they work? What gets kept and what gets thrown in the trash?

thanks!!

In my experience, what suppliers hand out is the usual sort of thing you'd get from any company: post-it note pad, pens, mousepads, mugs, key rings, calendars, etc, etc -- all with the supplier's logo.

I find myself using some of these (post-its, pens) and throwing some out (key rings, calendars).

Now sometimes, when a travel agent attends a supplier promotional or training session, there will be drawing for door prizes and some of those can be quite nice -- like trips for instance.
