Does anyone know if there is an Irish equivalent of the J1 work and travel visa?

I'm looking for a visa that, like the American J1 visa would allow a student to go to Ireland for the summer to work and travel. I have done a number of web searches but am not getting the information that I need.

Are you sure you really want to come here. The weather's crap all year round & it's really expensive too. Besides there are not many jobs going at the moment.

Have you considered Iceland?
